ALTERNATIVE MARKETING
Now a days there is a lof of ways to conduct an advertising campaign. This strategies rely in creativity a low cost making an impactful message that can stick in the mind of the audience. Renegade Marketing is an agency taht totally make this kind of advertising. The ad agency is based in NY and nowadays are pretty well recognized in the industry. Im going to show one of the best campaigns i ever seen. Check what they did with HSBC.
The challenge was
Increase customer loyalty to HSBC in a time when aggressive regional banks and more branches of entrenched leaders are popping up all over New York City. Thus, we had to make the HSBC positioning statement - "The world's local bank" - believable in this bustling metropolis. To put it into numbers, HSBC asked us to physically impact 80,000 New Yorkers, and impress another 15 million
Target
HSBC customers represent a cross-section of New Yorkers, including bankers on Wall Street, restaurateurs in Chinatown, and families on the Upper West Side. But no matter who they are, they all know that knowledge is power and that local knowledge - where to eat, what to do, how to get there - is the key to their city.
The original BankCabbie search and competition made sure that we found the most knowledgeable, most engaging cabbie in New York City. It was a made-for-media event, exciting the press and securing over 18 million PR impressions. So now imagine getting a free ride in the BankCab (because you're a lucky HSBC customer), and the driver not only knows where he's going, but can also give you restaurant, theatre or touring suggestions. Local knowledge indeed!
The second year of the program brought the Ride Free with HSBC concept to an even bigger audience. Street teams asked New York City trivia questions to the public and everyone who answered correctly received a free subway ride: 25,000 total. On top of that, during 12 amnesty days the cabs were available for free rides to all New Yorkers. It was as simple as getting in and taking a free ride.
The BankCab was one of the most successful and cost-effective marketing programs in HSBC's history. It won seven awards, nearly one in every category, including BRANDWEEK's Guerrilla Marketer of the Year, a gold Reggie for most innovative idea and a silver EX for best mobile marketing promo. The BankCab was a success for HSBC both externally and internally, encouraging loyalty among current customers, generating interest among prospects, and even improving employee morale.

MILLIONDOLLARHOMEPAGE
As a nerdy concept one student from England made a webpage very simple. The site has 1,000,000 pixels ready to announce advertising. What does this guy is talking about? As i said before , it contains one million pixels that u can buy to advertise your brand. Of course you can buy more than one pixel . Pretty simple huh? Buy with one dollar one pixel and you are announcing your brand. Well this 20 year old guy, the last year sold out all of the spaces . Here is the web page if you want to check that out. www.milliondollarhomepage.com
Now they are doing the same thing in buildings.
Alot of of questions pop up in my mind when i see this kind of things.
Do you get the right image doing this kind of advertising?
Does you brand get confuse with the other ones?
Does this thing might be an error doing this kinf of advetising?
What about the traffic in terms of visual facts of the other brands?

BANSKY STENCILS
Banksy's stencils feature striking and humorous images occasionally combined with slogans. The message is usually anti-war, anti-capitalist, anti-establishment or pro-freedom. Subjects include animals such as monkeys and rats, policemen, soldiers, children and the elderly. He also makes stickers (the Neighbourhood Watch subvert) and sculpture (the murdered phonebox), and was responsible for the cover art of Blur's 2003 album Think Tank. Bansky slowly started to get more and more prolific and notable after the millennium. Of course this new street art can be use as another tool to make creative ambient campaigns. The impact will be good in customers because it might reflect a new way of art to conduct your message.

TREVI FOUNTAIN GOES RED
October 19th, the waters of Rome’s famous Trevi Fountain turned blood red when a man threw paint into the basin in a bizarre act of vandalism apparently inspired by the Futurists of the early 20th century.
The man struck at around 4.30 pm and then disappeared into the crowd of tourists, leaving behind a pile of leaflets. The fountain, which re-uses the same water in a continuous cycle, soon started spurting red water into the air from its jets, providing an unprecedented spectacle which tourists immediately began photographing.
The leaflets found beside the fountain claimed that the coloring of the monument had been carried out by ‘FTM Futurist Action 2007,’ a group which has not been heard of before.
The leaflets state that the group aims to battle against “everything and everyone with a spirit of healthy violence” and to turn this “grey bourgeois society into a triumph of color.” As well, the leaflets proclaim that the red paint was a protest for expenses incurred in organizing the Rome Film Festival and symbolically referred to the event’s red carpet.

WAyfarer RAy BAN
The Ray-Ban Wayfarer is an iconic design of sunglasses manufactured by Ray-Ban since 1952. Wayfarers enjoyed early popularity in the 1950s and 1960s, especially after they were worn by Audrey Hepburn in the 1961 movie Breakfast at Tiffany's. Though the sunglasses had faded from the limelight by the 1970s, a lucrative 1982 product placement deal brought Wayfarers to their height of popularity. In the mid-2000s, the sunglasses also enjoyed a brief revival. All told, Wayfarers are the best-selling design of sunglasses in history
So wayfarer is coming back all the way . I just love this glasses. I know outside the trend in sunglasses was round and big glasses that cover all of your face, but the new trend is the wayfarer style , a lot of celebrities and rockstars are getting this sunglases ...Everybody must have a pair of this sunglasses its just a most!!!1

DR MARTENS FOREVER
You know what they say ......................................
The people of my age (22) of course remember or had a pair of DR Martens one time. They are great, i remember at the beginning of the century all of the people wanted one pair. They were always related with musical terms. You know too many famous people in the music industry used to wear them or still wear them ... So thats one of the main reasons i wanted to brought this campaign. I think its excellent the positioning they are trying to reach saying DR Martens FOREVER. Using of course succesful people in the rock music that already die...
Another reason i think this campaign perfectly stick with this blog its because my blog talks about things of advertising and music. So its pretty much a perfect match

Sex always SELLS!!!!!!
So the question is wheter to use sex in ads or not to use! Depends in the main objective or message you want to send to your customers. But one thing that im pretty sure is the use of Sex in advertising most of the times comes with an effective effect.
One teacher once told me "If u use sex in advertising always is going to catch the attention of the viewer " Well to be honestly i dont think so tho, I think there is too many sex ads outside in tv and prints. I think the most effective thing is to use sex combined with some controversy to make the ad more impactful or use sex in a creative way. Thats why i wanted to post this ads to see what im talking about. In this ads the sex i used to catch the attention as prime act involve with the whole strategy. Plus they are kind of funny and entreprenuer
U2 tower
For those persons who like the irish band U2 and all of the merchandising of the band, now you are going to be able to see and visit the U2 tower. Its going to be build it up in Dublin and the highest building in Ireland. The design will be develop by Norman Foster and the cost will be around 200 million euro. The building will be design for enterprise porpouses.
So the question is , whats the next step? The rolling stones parlament? The beatles lake ? or the hendrix country?
At least the design of the building seems really nice and futuristic

3M Goes Guerilla
Well this is an old ad for 3M , i just wanted to post it, because i think its one of the best guerilla ads ever. Well let me tell u the whole story about it. 3M said to the ad agency that the only the thing that the ad must contain is to highlight the benefit of how secure the 3M security boxes are!! Challenging huh?? Well the ad agency put this Security Box in the streets of Chicago. Inside of it, contained 500,000 dlls . So in the news break before the implementation of this this strategy , the tv broadcaster challenge the citizen to break it, because the security box contained a huge amount of money(this was obviously a previously strategy sponsored by the ad agency) . The citizens tried to break it in order to get the money, but no one could make it.
Amazing , this strategy by his own made publicity, PR, Advertising for free, plus the benfit of secutiry was demostrated when they couldnt break it , isnt that great...Well this is a brilliant example of how creativity can make a huge a different in advertising
RADIOHEAD CODES
There is million ways of promotion for an album or a cd record. Record labels or bands design the best way of advertising or promotion for their next cd.Either in an effctive way or in a way that no one understands. I this case , radiohead did some weird codes to the next album called "In rainbows". Theres a lot of question that pop up in my my mind when i see codes . Are these codes some way of attract the viewers attention? Is this kind of an effective publicity , or something to talk about afterwards?. Do we have to solve this codes in order to get one benefit? Or its just some way of Tom Yorke saying look how fuck up i am? Think abou it
